When frequent traveler Ken Nilsen achieved Diamond Medallion — that’s Delta airline’s elite frequent-flyer status — he celebrated with a Paris trip with girlfriend Tracy Bellman. Well, it turns out that trip celebrated more diamonds than just Ken’s SkyMiles status. (Zing!) Indeed he proposed with a sparkler in view of the Eiffel Tower.

In keeping with the travel theme, the couple sealed the deal this week in a wedding ceremony in which they walked down an entirely different sort of aisle. (Can you guess?) Yup, they said their "I dos" on a Delta flight between Cincinnati, where they live, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in D.C. alongside their children and 10 friends.
“Something that we’ve always had in common was travel, so getting married on a plane just seemed to be the perfect fit,” Ken said in a statement posted by Delta. “I’ve always felt like the journey was just as much a part of the adventure as the destination.”
The couple kicked off their big day at the airport with a traveler's version of a wedding limo: a golf cart with bundles of white balloons, which whisked them to their gate.
A member of the wedding party placed a themey invitation — plus a barf bag with an appropriate message! — on each seat. Tracy wore a wedding dress, and her "something borrowed" was a pair of wings.
The said their vows in mid-air, and when the flight landed in D.C., customers lined at the area to cheer and blow bubbles as the newly married couple walked down a carpet covered in rose petals. In the lounge, the airline served a cake topped with a model Delta jet.
The couple flew home to Cincinnati after the wedding... but next they’re headed off next to Cozumel, Denmark, Las Vegas, Paris, and Cape Town.
